Join the GLBT Historical Society Archive for an intimate night of archival exploration into the lesbian economic networks that inspired Directory of Dreams: Bay Area Lesbian Economies and Radical Care, 1970-1995. This is a unique opportunity to engage with a selection of archival collections in a group setting, meet the archive staff, get familiar with our reading room, and learn about utilizing our digital collections!

Participants will have an opportunity to flip through issues of Women’s Yellow Pages, read meeting minutes that document how the Old Wives’ Tale collective discussed the politics of running a bookstore, explore how legendary lesbian performers like Gwen Avery, Marga Gomez, and Mimi Fox lined up consistent gigs at the BayBrick Inn, and see how the Women’s Press Project utilized poster printing to transform feminist organizing into a visual culture.

This is a free event that will be limited to 12 participants. First time visitors to the archive are especially encouraged to attend!

RSVP today.
