The PRIDE celebration we planned with the GLBT Historical Society in June was remarkable for two reasons: It was our first big virtual event during the pandemic and it was a perfect blend of fun, topical and educational. A huge part of our success was the Historical Society’s breadth and depth of intersectional resources and their commitment to quality. Every element, from curating a diverse array of talent to planning to the show’s production to the post-event work, was handled perfectly. The GLBT Historical Society is a great partner and resource.

The points covered and personal stories were so fascinating, and I’ve already heard from several attendees that they really enjoyed the discussion. As a gay millennial myself, I think knowledge of past struggles and activism in our community is often severely lacking, as I didn’t even know history behind the flag before hearing about the exhibit. As far as making a visible impact for our cause within the company, today was very powerful, and will hopefully help in kicking off several inclusion initiatives we’re trying to launch.

The GLBT Historical Society did a 30-minute virtual presentation of hidden gems from their archives for our Pride Employee Resource Group (ERG). It was hands-down the most engaging, delightful, and educational event we've ever had. Andrew and Isaac thoughtfully contextualized each of the artifacts and related them back to the very physical expression of sexuality and gender identity. It was so much more than just a “show and tell”—we all felt immersed in the vulnerability of those who the items represented, and how their stories echo the struggles of the LGBTQ community. Seeing the remnants of the original Pride flag along with the history was a powerful moment for many of us. This presentation is an educational and inspiring event for any ERG!
