Henri Leleu Bar Photographs

Included here are selected photographs by Henri Leleu of San Francisco gay bar and club exteriors, circa 1960s-1970s, from the Henri Leleu papers (#1997-13). Leleu (1907-1996) was a gay man, World War II veteran, photographer, and world traveller. He was active in the Tavern Guild in San Francisco and in the city’s leather scene beginning in the 1960s.
