Inspired by Where We Made Room, this workshop sends you out into the Castro for a walking and blind contour drawing session, capturing the buildings and streets that have held queer life for generations. Back at the museum, we'll trace those sketches onto transparency paper to create negatives, then head outside again to turn them into cyanotype prints using sun print paper—letting the sun fix your drawings into deep Prussian blue.

Just as Landeta's silks layer archival exteriors with imagined interiors to blur document and dream, your prints will hold both what's actually there on the block and the loose, intuitive line your hand found along the way.

No drawing experience necessary, all materials provided. Wear shoes ready for a walk.

*Due to the materials cost for this event, GLBT Historical Society Members are limited for one (1) free ticket to this program.
