Research Hours:
PLEASE NOTE that in May, the Archives will be open for drop in hours on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month: May 12 and May 26, and CLOSED on the 1st and 3rd Saturday.
In June, the Archives will be open for drop in hours on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month: June 9 and June 23, and CLOSED on the 1st and 3rd Saturday.
All other months, the Archives is open the 1st and 3rd Saturday and closed the 2nd and 4th Saturday.
For Members
Wednesday to Friday from 11am to 5pm by appointment for GLBTHS members, subject to availability. You can also come in on the first and third Saturdays each month from 1pm to 5pm without an appointment.

Open the first and third Saturdays each month from 1pm to 5pm to the general public. You can also schedule an appointment for Fridays.

Donating Materials to the Archive:
We are always interested in assessing donations of all kinds for inclusion in our collections. Currently, we would like to fill particular gaps in our holdings, and we seek materials documenting GLBT life prior to the 1970s, as well as GLBT people of color, lesbian and bisexual women of all social/cultural backgrounds, GLBT working class communities, and bisexual and transgender people of all time periods.
If you have a donation please use the donation form on this website. Please include either a list of items you would like to donate or a description, and the size of the donation (number of boxes, periodicals, etc.), and your timeframe for the donation in your email.
About our collections:
The Archives and Manuscripts collections consist primarily of unpublished material, including letters, diaries, manuscripts, photographs, costumes, and other artifacts. These collections document the lives of both “average” people and community leaders. They also include the records of many community organizations, businesses, and political campaigns.
