GLBT Historical Society helps make MILK
Gus and Rebekah

The GLBT Historical Society was an invaluable resource for the MILK film. The film used photos and other materials from the historical society to help them recreate the 1970's in the Castro. Of particular interest were photos of the Castro from the 1970's, photos of Harvey Milk, flyers and posters from the No on 6 initiative, materials from Harvey Milk's run for supervisor, items from Castro bars and business, and the personal affects of Harvey Milk. They even took painstaking measures to replicated Harvey Milk's dining table and the suit he was assassinated in.

To read more Danny Glicker recreating the suit read Remaking the Castro Clone from Out Magazine.

To read more about the archive and the production of the film read A full picture of Milk from the L.A. Times.
