THE HUNT IS ON!
GLBT Historical Society’s 3rd Annual Queer Treasure Hunt

SAN FRANCISCO—Run faster, pussycat; the past is catching up with you!  On Saturday, October 21, the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual Transgender Historical Society presents the Third Annual Great Homo History Hunt.  In this wild dash across the city, teams will earn a degree in queer studies as they elbow one another aside in an all-out search for the sites, sounds, and smells of our crazy and contested history.  The Hunt dispatches participants around town to visit historic buildings and sites and answer questions about our very queer past.  It culminates in a big party where winners will get amazing prizes and the envy of their peers.

In years past, over a hundred people in miniskirts, tuxedoes, army fatigues and bike messenger drag ran, cabbed, scootered, pedaled, and limousined through the neighborhoods of the city in search of clues. This year, the GLBT Historical Society expects hundreds of participants and is making the Hunt more ambitious than ever before.

Hopeful historians should gather their research assistants and start coordinating their outfits.  Prizes will be awarded for Hunt Winners, Hottest Historians, Best Dressed Team, and Best Form of Locomotion. True to San Francisco’s spirit, our judges will be using a liberal definition of “Best.” One hint: Wear Comfortable Shoes!
